Now imagine that you were wearing a mini skirt and stilettos...

Cute puppies with bad habits are hard to correct because they are so cute. But we need to for the sake of having a seemingly well behaved dog, we corrected Shio the first moment that we saw it happen. Before each correction, I used to think to myself, "If this happened to me while I was wearing a mini skirt and stiletto heels, would I still think it's cute?"

That immediately eliminated these behaviors:

1. Jumping - Large red nail scrapes running down your leg = not sexy.

2. Pulling on walks - Definitely does not make you look like a you've got it all together while getting pulled down the block by your dog.

3. Running away after pooping - Imagine yourself trying to pick up poop without exposing your private bits all-the-meanwhile balancing yourself in your heels and then getting pulled over and falling face first into the poop because your dog darts away after relieving himself. Also not sexy!

Of course I thought about writing this post after Shio jumped on me while wearing a pair of shorts. He wanted me to throw his squeaky ball. I had a big red mark running down the front of my thigh. :(

We Are The Champions...

Shio had a great week! First, his Lakers and favorite player Kobe Bryant won another championship. Shio was very happy that his efforts in cheering the team on had paid off.

Then, after a night of celebration, we took him to Central Park. This time, because it was just us, we took the subway.

The weather in NYC today could not have been better; sunny and bright, but not too hot -- just the way Lord Shio likes it.

Shio, of course, explored the park and ran around until he exhausted himself.

That's all folks!

Shio in Iceland?

Ting and I recently took a trip to Iceland for our honeymoon / wedding photos. We had a wonderful time with the McLellan's, and we are looking forward to wonderful, epic photos. What did Shio do? Well, we obviously could not bring him, but instead brought his surrogate body with us.

Here he is hanging out in Reykjavik:

The real Shio will return soon!

Shio's New Scab

Over the holiday weekend, I brought Shio to Long Island to visit my family. They have a beautiful and grassy dog run blocks from their house, so I thought it would be a good idea for Shio to get a real run and play with other dogs while we were out there.

While Shio was rough housing with a Carolina dog, that dog grabbed a pea sized chunk of fur from above his left eye. I wasn't worried since the dogs sorted out their own issues. However, the bare skin has progressed to a large bloody wound thanks to Shio's hind leg to forehead scratching action.

Now we have to make sure that we work on cleaning and putting ointment on it so it doesn't get infected and cause a bigger headache. Shio runs away when he sees a cotton ball coming towards him now and will still scratch his scab when we have our back turned!

J is sad because we know that the fur won't grow back over where his scar from the scab will be but I think it'll make him seem manlier! Don't worry Shio, chicks dig scars!
