On the way down from Central Park each time, Shio and Elsie will sit and fight for the middle space in the back seat between my friend and I. They are like two little kids, I swear. No long road trips with them... ever.

In this video, Shio is on the floor while Elsie is still perched on the seat. Shio has lost the battle, but not the fight (yet).
I've had the opportunity to take Shio out for many car rides on Long Island last week while taking a break from NYC. Things he has learned about car rides:
1. Sometimes Shio gets restless and wants to walk around but he quickly learns that standing in the car would mean that he would lose his balance everytime the car shifts.
2. He usually falls asleep next to me on rides but will jump up quickly the second he hears the seatbelt unbuckle. He knows that the moment he hears that click, it means that we've arrived at our destination.
3. He gets excited for car rides since it means that we're going somewhere fun for him! He will run over to the car and jump in as quick a he can!
