Shio vs. Aarti Party's Pumpkin Oatmeal

I confess. My latest obsession at the Food Network is not The Next Food Network Star's 2010 winner Aarti Party's show! I truly envy Aarti's ability to whip up a delicious and unique meal using spices that people don't normally touch in the kitchen!

This morning, I tried out Aarti's Pumpkin Oatmeal recipe* and it is oh-so-delish!

Apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks so!

Shio's ears immediately perked at the sound of the can opener and his nose led him straight into the kitchen when he caught a whiff of the organic pumpkin puree. I've been mixing in pumpkin puree* or other pureed veggies into his food ever since he was a wee puppy and he's no stranger to the taste or scent.

As I cooked the oatmeal, I saw him sitting up straight and staring at me from the corner of my eye.

Afterwards, this is the sequence of events that occurred (in pictures):

Only I was the one who gulped down the oatmeal as quickly as I could so that Shio couldn't eat any for himself.

The end!

**Pumpkin is a great source of fiber for dogs and will help upset digestive systems. Make sure you purchase the pumpkin puree with no additives. Don't buy the pumpkin pie filling - it's loaded with sugar and spices and that's NOT good for your dog!
