Maine Adventure: Shio vs. Portland Head Light

Portland Head Light is supposedly the most photographed lighthouse in Maine. We headed there immediately post arrival, and the views were in fact quite magnificent.

As you can see from the above image, they have a large off-leash area for dogs. In fact, we found Maine to be very dog-friendly.

After the visit to the Head Light, we headed to town to grab dinner.

Pai men Miyake was kind of a poor man's version of Ippudo in NYC -- we were very excited to try their ramen noodles. While I cannot say Pai men Miyake can match up to the ramen shops in NY, I would recommend it for visitors looking for a decent soup noodles.

Maine Adventure: Shio vs. Car Ride

We took a 3-day trip to Maine, which included a five and a half hour drive from Brooklyn. Shio behaved very well, and enjoyed every single pit-stop.

Walk To Atlantic Avenue

This morning, Shio met up with his friend Feta and took a trip to Atlantic Avenue. It was a beautiful day -- although a bit on the hot side for Shio.

Brooklyn Heights is really a beautiful neighborhood -- one can find many things to photograph.

We bumped into Tommy on our way. THe pups had a brief get-together.

By the time we got to Atlantic Avenue, it was starting to get really hot...

We decided to head back to Pier 6 to eat the brunch that we bought on Atlantic Avenue. Shio and Feta were happy to get a break in the shade as well.

On our way back, the inevitable happened... I had to carry Shio for a few blocks to give the poor boy a break...

I bought Shio a treat to reward him for putting up (mostly) the heat.

"This is more like it guys. Air conditioning, marrow treat... I forgive you -- for now."

Through The Mail Slot

Locked myself out one day and peeked through our mail slot to see a very confused Shio looking back at me.

Shio: "Why aren't you coming inside?"
